Kybella - A new way to reduce a double chin

  • Kybella - A new way to reduce a double chin

Nobody likes having a double chin. Let's face it, you can work out all you want and never be free of the saggy skin under your chin. Fortunately there is now a way to reduce the appearance of double chin, Kybella! We are very happy to be bringing bringing this new, effective and exciting product to the Valley.

Kybella (deoxycholic acid) is a treatment to improve the appearance of a moderate to severe double chin. Officially called "submental fat," a double chin makes you look heavier and older than you are. Some people are more prone to having a double chin and no amount of exercise or weight loss really gets rid of it! This is a frustrating situation and up until now, you really had few options.

Kybella is injected into the fat under the chin and basically destroys the fat cells. It is safe, effective and is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment for treating double chins. Once the desired look is achieved, re-treatment is not usually necessary. Sometimes, however, people do need several treatments to get the look they want. Additional treatments need to be at least a month apart.

A single Kybella treatment session involves multiple injections into the treatment area. Most people tolerate treatment well, but you might feel some numbness, itching, skin tightness or a headache afterwards. After your Kybella treatment, the area might be a bit bruised, red, swollen or hard. These effects are not usually too bothersome and they resolve on their own.

Now, while most people can use Kybella, there are some people who should not, such as people with infections of the chin and neck or those with bleeding problems. People taking certain medications, such as blood thinners, also should not use Kybella. Additionally, people that are pregnant or plan to before pregnant or those that are breastfeeding should not use Kybella.
